Abstract :

The quest for the nature of dark matter has reached a historical point in time, with several different and complementary experiments on the verge of conclusively exploring large portions of the parameter space of the most theoretically compelling particle dark matter models. This focus issue on dark matter and particle physics brings together a broad selection of invited articles from the leading experimental and theoretical groups in the field. The leitmotif of the collection is the need for a multi-faceted search strategy that includes complementary experimental and theoretical techniques with the common goal of a sound understanding of the fundamental particle physical nature of dark matter. These include theoretical modeling, high-energy colliders and direct and indirect searches. We are confident that the works collected here present the state of the art of this rapidly changing field and will be of interest to both experts in the topic of dark matter as well as to those new to this exciting field.

With widespread application of Oil-gas Mixing Transportation, the failure phenomenon caused by corrosion and erosion generally appears in the elbow region of gathering pipelines. The paper utilizes CFD Method and CFX Software to analyze flow field and stress of direct elbow pipe and respectively explore the influences of gaseous and liquid phases on erosion failure of elbow region. As the research shown, the turbulence prediction generated by a large number of liquid phases flowing past outer arch wall surfaces of elbow pipe affected by centrifugal force is the main research for erosion failure firstly occurred in arch walls, and meanwhile, secondary flow phenomenon generated by gaseous phase extends the distribution scope of erosion failure in walls of downstream pipes of elbow region. In addition, although the shear stress in wall is quite small, it plays a promotion role in exfoliation of corrosion product film in pipe wall in order to speed up the failure. Fluid erosion destroys corrosion product film in wall and aggravates its exfoliation, which is the reason for elbow failure.

In this research, a theoretical computational investigation for studying the analysis method for possibility to produce magnetic lens of free from a rotation and distortion. The doublet projector magnetic lens with cylindrical pole pieces has been designed. The radial and spiral distortions have been corrected by using this lens , after the magnetic field has been computed, by the use of computer programs based on the finite element method (FEM),this magnetic field has been used for calculation the projector focal properties for this lens. Where, a rotation and distortion free images have been obtain by suitable choice of the ratios values of gaps and bores of first lens and second lens.

Title : Optimization design for Downhole Turbine Generator Based on Response Surface Method

To improve the power generation efficiency, the parameters matching analysis method for the downhole generator with asymmetric turbine is established on basis of the experimental design theory, response surface methodology and orthogonal experimental design. Based on the calculation results by Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), the blade parameters of stator and rotor which affect the objective function a lot are screened out by the single-factor experimental design. Then, to get the optimal design results, these parameters are analyzed and determined by the Box-Behnken design and response surface methodology. Once the approximation model of objective function is constructed, the interplay between these parameters is discussed in this paper. Furthermore, the experimental study is conducted on the optimal design point of the new asymmetric turbine. The results show that CFD simulations are in good accordance with the calculations based on response surface method. The relative error of experimental value is smaller compared with the predictive value, and the trends of performance curves are almost the same. What’s more, the efficiency of new asymmetric turbine increases by 10% after optimizing matching. It declares that the design method based on Box-Behnken and the orthogonal design experiments can be used in the matching analysis of asymmetric turbine’s parameters. The research in this paper provides reliable guidance in turbine blade design and technological parameters optimizing.
